Professional Background

Scott is Special Counsel at International Aerospace Law & Policy Group where he provides specialist legal advice, professional training and law reform solutions in fields such as public international law, insurance and approval frameworks for aerospace activities.

He is previous director of the Space Law Council of Australia and New Zealand and a current member of the International Institute of Space Law. In 2024, Scott became General Counsel of the Space Generation Advisory Council, the leading global network of students and young professionals involved in space activities.

Scott teaches law and economics to undergraduates, MBA students and professionals across a number of institutions around the world. The topics which Scott teaches draw from disciplines ranging from:

  • entrepreneurship and politics
  • international relations
  • risk controls and quality assurance.

Scott has worked with several space industry and law associations and contributes to the International Space University in various capacities. In 2021 Scott led the regulatory team at Australian launch services provider Southern Launch to obtain the country’s first commercial space launch licenses and provide improvements to the regulations controlling space activities.

Beyond his involvement in law, aerospace and economics, Scott is a strategic advisor to the Live and Let Live Foundation, a not-for-profit working to ensure all laws facilitate peace, freedom and prosperous human cooperation.

Vision

Bridging local expertise with international space capabilities and contracts by demonstrating how Moldovan:

  • industry is benefited from using low-cost satellite technologies
  • students and professionals can access the many opportunities and resources in the growing global space economy.

Role at the MIT-Center

Scott is supporting for fostering international donor connections, leveraging his global network to secure funding and partnerships for the MIT-Center. Additionally, he shares his legal expertise to ensure that the center's educational programs and initiatives comply with international laws and standards, contributing to the organization's growth and global impact.
